National Affiliate van de International Society for Music Education (ISME)!

Gehrels Muziekeducatie heeft in het najaar van 2006 de status van Nederlandse vertegenwoordiging van de International Society for Music Education (ISME) verworven.

ISME werd in 1953 onder auspiciën van de UNESCO opgericht. Deze organisatie zet zich wereldwijd in voor muziekeducatie en heeft in de afgelopen decennia een uitgebreid netwerk opgebouwd van mensen die zich met muziek en educatie bezig houden. Daarnaast geeft ISME publicaties uit en organiseert zij zowel wereld- als regionale conferenties en zijn er diverse commissies in het leven geroepen.

In ISME zijn leden uit meer dan zeventig landen vertegenwoordigd. Dit kan doordat zij respect toont voor alle soorten muziek en culturen. Daarbij gaat ISME ervan uit dat ieder individu recht heeft op muziekeducatie.

ISME is onderverdeeld in zeven commissies die zich toeleggen op specifieke terreinen van de muziek educatie. Dit gebeurd onder andere door middel van de tweejaarlijkse ISME wereldcongressen. Voorafgaand hieraan worden door elke afdeling speciale voor-conferenties gehouden.

De commissie zijn:
• Research Commission
• Community Music Activity Commission
• Early Childhood Music Education Commission
• Music Policy: Cultural, Educational and Mass Media
• Music in Schools and Teacher Education Commission
• Music in Special Education, Music Therapy and Music Medicine Commission
• Education of the professional musician

2nd EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION closes 15th May 2010. Registration information at:

2. After login you will see the registration button which is a link to the form.

Before you register have ready your:
passport - to give passport information
credit card - to make registration fee payment

If you are not a member (or need to renew) please do this as soon as possible as the membership will need to be processed before you can register.

Gebaseerd op de thema van de conferentie zullen muziekdocenten tijdens de conferentie spreken over het verbeteren van een goed communicatie en begrip tussen de verschillende volkeren, culturen, geslachten en de verschillende groepen. Zij zullen ook spreken over hoe  te komen tot een meer harmonieuze mondiale ontwikkeling met harmonieuze muziek.

Accommodation:
The hotels listed on the ISME website, have agreed to give ISME delegates special discounted rates. Make your hotel bookings through China Star Professionals to get the best rates. See:

China Star have prepared a list of the ISME hotels, with the names also in Chinese. Print this out and take it with you - you will need it on arrival to show the taxi driver, and during your stay it will be very useful as you can point to the phrases to ask questions. See:

Tours:

You do not need to be a presenter to attend the World Conference. You will gain invaluable professional development by attending as a delegate, seeing and hearing what is happening in music education around the world.

NON-ENGLISH speakers will benefit greatly by attending workshops, class lesson demonstrations and concerts.

Mainland Chinese delegates (non presenters) must be members of the CSME (Chinese Society for Music Education. Please visit the Chinese section of this website.

3. UNESCO Arts Education

2010 is an important year for the UNESCO Arts Education programme as the Second World Conference on Arts Education will take place in Seoul from the 25th to the 28th of May.
